Low-Carb Diets - Have We Got It All Wrong?

Here's a great article from Brian St. Pierre at the Precision Nutrition website, examining the longer-term effects of low-carb diets, and discussing why they are probably not the best choice for the majority of people.  As I have noted over the past few years with a number of fitness professionals who were previously strict low-carb/paleo eaters, there can be some significant health risks, particularly for women, of keeping carbs too restricted for too long.

Near the end of the article, there's also a good visual "rule of thumb" kind of guide to portion sizing for that elusive "balanced" diet.  This article is a must-read for those of you interested in the best nutrition for performance AND body composition.
