In another great article she has had published on T-Nation, Dr. Jade Teta talks about the bad and good sides of the stress hormone, cortisol. You can read the article here.
Short version: the key, like many things when it comes to your body, is balance. In addition to your everyday life stresses, chances are (if you are reading this) that you also put your body through some physiological stress by exercising. To balance that off, you need to spend some time de-stressing. Get outside for a leisurely walk, turn off your smartphone, get a massage, spend some fun time with friends and family...just chill out a bit!
