Below, I’ve answered the most frequently asked questions about The Essentials Of Healthy Eating, our 6-week habit-based nutrition course for sustainable weight management. If you have a question about the course that is not answered below, please feel free to reach out via our Contact Us page.

  • Habit-based nutrition focuses on creating sustainable eating habits that you can maintain long-term. Unlike fad diets, which often involve extreme restrictions and are hard to stick to, our approach teaches you how to make balanced, healthy choices in any situation.

  • This course is ideal for anyone who has struggled with fad diets or restrictive eating plans in the past and is looking for a more sustainable approach to nutrition.

    If you're tired of the dieting rollercoaster and want to learn how to eat well for life, this course is for you.

  • The course is divided into seven sections, each focusing on a different aspect of habit-based nutrition. You'll have access to video lessons, downloadable resources, and weekly group calls with a certified nutrition coach.

  • You’ll learn all about habit-based nutrition and what we feel are the five key habits: eating more slowly, choosing better beverages, eating enough protein, making smart carb choices, and eating healthy fats. We’ll then wrap the course up with some ideas around how to really make healthier eating fit you with some individualization and optimization.

  • For a full 6 MONTHS of access, the course costs $119 + GST and PST, for a total of $133.28 (in Canadian dollars).

    That’s about 75 cents per day for the six months you’ll have access.

    Plus, if you choose to work with Coach JP for one-on-one coaching, we’ll apply 100% of your course fee towards your initial coaching membership. You can learn more about coaching here.

  • You’ll have support for any questions or concerns you have during the course by email, directly with me - Coach JP.

    There will also be some opportunities to have live support from me in both group calls / workshops and a one-on-one call format as the course progresses.

  • The Essentials Of Healthy Eatingis set up to deliver all of the course content over a 6-week period. That’s the minimum amount of time it will take to complete all the lessons at the recommended pacing.

    However, we give you a full 6 MONTHS to access the course in case life happens and you need to revisit some lessons along the way. ;)

  • NO. You can access the course via our online learning platform (Coachific) within whatever web browser you choose, and will work on any device with Internet access - your phone, tablet, laptop…whatever.

    BUT…if you install the “Coachific Go” app, you’ll probably find navigating the course a little bit easier. Here are links to download the app for Android or Apple devices.

    We’ll also communicate with you by email, so you’ll need access to that, but again, it will work on whatever device you use for that.

  • While eating better and achieving or maintaining a healthy body weight can certainly play an important role in your overall health, we at The BTG are NOT medical professionals and none of the information provided should be taken as advice for your specific illness / condition or as “medical nutrition therapy.”

    ALWAYS seek the advice of your doctor or other medical professionals before making changes to your diet and / or exercise regimen and for information specific to your illness / condition.

  • The way we approach the habits in the course will help you naturally find your body’s “sweet spot” - the weight and body composition at which it is healthiest and you are happiest.

    What that looks like and how fast or slow you get there will depend on a lot of factors, so we don’t make any specific estimates or promises.

    We do, however, cover the topic of what a reasonable expectation could be over time with one of the first week’s lessons in the course. ;)

  • This course is designed to help you build your own, unique way of eating that works for you so that you can stick with it long-term.

    For that reason, we don’t include or recommend “eat this, don’t eat that” kind of meal plans.

    No special equipment is required. The course provides some basic recipes that use commonly available ingredients, and a simple framework for building your own meals. Any dietary restrictions can usually be accommodated within the course structure.
