Below, I’ve answered the most frequently asked questions about The Gut Check. If you have a question about the course that is not answered below, please feel free to reach out via our Contact Us page.

  • The Gut Check is a 6-week elimination diet course designed to help you optimize your digestive health and overall well-being. Through guided coaching, recipes / food guides, and community support, you'll discover which foods work best for your body.

  • This course is for anyone looking to improve their digestive health, boost energy levels, and gain mental clarity. Whether you're new to elimination diets or have tried them before, The Gut Check provides the structure and support you need.

  • The course is divided into six weeks (seven including our introduction week), each with a specific focus. You'll have weekly check-ins, video lessons, recipes / food guides, and live Q&A sessions. The course is designed to be both educational and interactive.

  • You'll learn how to identify food triggers or intolerances that may be affecting your health. The course covers everything from prepping your kitchen to reintroducing foods back into your diet. You'll also gain insights into the science behind food choices and digestive health.

  • For a full 6 MONTHS of access, the course costs $119 + GST and PST, for a total of $133.28 (in Canadian dollars).

    That’s about 75 cents per day for the six months you’ll have access.

    Plus, if you choose to work with Coach JP for one-on-one coaching, we’ll apply 100% of your course fee towards your initial coaching membership. You can learn more about coaching here.

  • You’ll have support for any questions or concerns you have during the course by email, directly with me - Coach JP.

    There will also be some opportunities to have live support from me in both group calls / workshops and a one-on-one call format as the course progresses.

  • The Gut Check is set up to deliver all of the course content over the course of 7 weeks (an intro week plus the 6-week course). That’s the minimum amount of time it will take to complete all the lessons at the recommended pacing.

    However, we give you a full 6 MONTHS to access the course in case life happens and you need to revisit some lessons along the way. ;)

  • NO. You can access the course via our online learning platform (Coachific) within whatever web browser you choose, and will work on any device with Internet access - your phone, tablet, laptop…whatever.

    BUT…if you install the “Coachific Go” app, you’ll probably find navigating the course a little bit easier. Here are links to download the app for Android or Apple devices.

    We’ll also communicate with you by email, so you’ll need access to that, but again, it will work on whatever device you use for that.

  • While eating better and achieving or maintaining a healthy body weight can certainly play an important role in your overall health, we at The BTG are NOT medical professionals and none of the information provided should be taken as advice for your specific illness / condition or as “medical nutrition therapy.”

    ALWAYS seek the advice of your doctor or other medical professionals before making changes to your diet and / or exercise regimen and for information specific to your illness / condition.

  • While identifying food triggers and intolerances can certainly make your body feel and function better and this sometimes results in losing a few pounds, weight loss is not the focus of this course.

  • This course is designed to help you identify food triggers and intolerances, and is a short-term intervention. That said, everyone’s tastes and needs are different, so we don’t provide a cookie-cutter meal plan.

    No special equipment is required. The course provides some basic recipes that use commonly available ingredients, and a simple framework for building your own meals from the allowed ingredients. Any dietary restrictions can usually be accommodated within the course structure.
